Musical director

Thomas Noll obtained a degree in church and school music in Freiburg. His majors included the organ, choral direction, conducting, singing and the piano. From 1995 to 2007, he worked as a cantor and organist at St. Sophie's church in central Berlin where one focus of his choral direction activities was on Gregorian chant. A particular concern for Thomas is to raise the awareness of contemporary music and the organ as a contemporary instrument, which has been a focus of his freelance work since 2008.

He conducted the gay choir RosaCavaliere from 1992 to 2001 and was among the organisers of Various Voices, the gay and lesbian choral festival held in Berlin in 2001.

Thomas became canta:re's musical director in October 2005.
